Auto parts makers ask for meeting with PM
The Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts & Accessories Manufacturers (Paapam) has formally approached Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, seeking an urgent meeting to present the industry's concerns and constructive proposals regarding the draft Auto & Auto Parts Policy 2026-2031. In its communication, Paapam acknowledged the prime minister's directive under which a high-level committee was currently conducting a clause-by-clause review of the draft policy. While welcoming the review process, the association emphasised that finalisation of the policy without meaningful industry consultation could pose serious risks to domestic manufacturing, employment generation, localisation and national self-reliance.
